We woke up early in the morning and packed and checked out of our hotel. We took the metro to the palace and watched the Lipizaner Stallions. It was pretty neat. We watched the practice. After that we loaded into the car and used gps, road maps, and luck to get to Budapest. We went through Gyor and Tatabanya.
When we got to Budapest, we had a fun time navigating the streets. This is a really neat city. It feels old and new, East and West, and smells really good. They have really good cone/funnel cakes that are like a sweet donut pretzel. Paprika is really common in the food and they have a pancake appetizer with chicken that makes enchiladas seem disappointing. This really is a neat city.
We are dinner on the Danube River. We walked around a bit then called it an early night.
Here is a map of Vienna. Notice the streets aren't consistent and roads randomly change names. By our third day we had in down. We also found a really good pastry shop around corner from palace.
Hofburg Palace. Left side is Spanish Riding School
Inside the arena.
Baby Napoleon training a horse.
This church just appears at the exit of subway. There are so many buildings around it you would have a hard time trying to find it. Almost as if it were playing hide and seek with its patrons.
Hungary! It is beautiful out here. This is outside Gyor.
They had signs for this candy all over so I bought some. Good stuff. Wished I bought more.
Hungarian Forint
Our first look at Budapest.
Romantic walk along the Danube. I got to hold her hand.
Funny to see this here.
A park. Loved that there's a kid with a shovel in this statue.
We were pretty beat. We got a cone thingy and called it a day. Gotta relax on vacation right?!
