Farming

When people ask what I do. I tell them I am a chicken farmer. That's true because I've spent more money than I've made. And I use them as a tax write off. Plus we are selling free range organic eggs.

This is Bridget's favorite chicken. It can fly. It roosts in the trees and it can eat mice. It is awesome.
We took kids to livestock show. This reminded me of playing in Uncle Leon's corn cellar. We used to go sledding in big stacks of corn. I remember digging corn out of socks and underwear at home and mom getting upset. Ironically. We dug corn out of socks and diapers.
Eli loved this llama.

Amethyst was more sceptical. Look at that face.
Emmy and Dora loved the goats.
I hope they can always be best friends.
This is what nightmares are made of.
Amethyst and her best friend.
I got an award. Physician Communicator. I'm told this award rarely if ever goes to ER doctors. It's a nice award and fairly transparent. Wonder if that us symbolic.

This was hard to take a picture of

Chickens.

We had a raccoon problem here so we had a fence built. I covered the top. We still let the chickens out to wander.
Hope. We named the one eyed chicken Hope. Mainly because after syringe dropper feeding yougurt and grapes, we hope it can become self sustaining.
These chickens need to learn fear.
Emmy trying to teach it. A nice roundhouse.
They congregate around us my back yard is spotted with chicken turd from a chicken herd.

Houston Livestock Show

We took all the kids to livestock show. We headed strait to the mutton bustin. Eli and Dora both competed. Eli tied for last. Dora got first!
Eli was 15. Dora was 13.
Here is a YouTube link

At the award ceremony.
Interviewing the champion.
She won this belt buckle. Pretty cool huh?!
We went on the Ferris wheel next. Eli and Dora were pumped.
The kids rode a couple carnival rides.
We went to the pig races! Kids had a ball. Dora and Emmy got to wave flags.
My little piggies.
Dora waving the pigs on.
We saw the biggest long Horn I've seen. I couldn't get it to turn.
Here are some mini cows.

Raccoons and cocoons

Raccoons are killing our chickens. We lost my favorite two. We almost lost a third. Here is Bridget being a chicken nurse. It only has one eye. Bridget is force feeding it. It's really sad.

I went to check on kids tonight. Little weirdos made piles and cocooned themselves in pillows blankets and cushions.

Chicks dig mustangs.

Found her checking out my ride

Swimming

Bridget took kids to Galveston for the Mardi Gras. I had to work. But when she got back the kids really wanted to go swimming. So we got suits on. I didn't because I had to work.

It was a little cold. But the kids had fun
