Zombie

The popularity of zombies has made hoarding, food storage, and disaster preparation more mainstream. Mormons are no longer weird. Thanks Max Brooks!

Houston at last

We made it alive. 2300 miles only 900 on the freeway! We would have only gone on highways, but ran out of time.

Fort Stockton

Second night at a Motel 6. 7 hrs with top down. 900 miles total. Saw Mexico. Went through Gila mountains. Went on Route 66, and had breakfast in Radiator Springs with Mater.

I am very burned but having fun.

Why don't they make boxed root beer for us nondrinkers?

Ethical question

Now that a lot of places are going "green" and handing out compostable bags, cups, and napkins, can I just toss those out the window?

If it is made of corn, is it still littering?

Wasting time

Our work blocked certain websites from employees. They blocked gmail, facebook, myspace, and a few others in an effort to improve productivity.
Now all of our employees have smart phones to access all those sites at work. Not sure who is winning, or what the next step is.

New shorts

I just bought shorts. They came with an extra button. I had two thoughts:

1. Where am I supposed to put this that I won't forget?
2. What does that tell me about the quality? Either they plan on it falling apart and want me to be prepared, or they are challenging me to destroy them (thinking the button is the only thing that will need replacement.)

Challenge accepted.

Camping in my house

I love the outdoors. We tried to take the kids camping last year and it was a failure. We shoved everything into our car at 10pm and drove home.

While Bridget is in Texas, I am up here in Oregon finishing out my contract. Alone. No tv. No radio. I have been sleeping on a futon, and having a hot shower every day. I have also been living off of frosted mini wheats.

It feels like camping without the fire. Then I had my revelation: what I really like is fire.

Maybe my years in scouts and young men fostered my inner pyro! Camping has nothing to do with it.
