I just bought shorts. They came with an extra button. I had two thoughts:
1. Where am I supposed to put this that I won't forget?
2. What does that tell me about the quality? Either they plan on it falling apart and want me to be prepared, or they are challenging me to destroy them (thinking the button is the only thing that will need replacement.)
Challenge accepted.

They should have a zipper pocket for the extra button. Or maybe they were just boyscouts in their earlier years and want you to be prepared, but then they should probably have included a zipper, patches, and a little sewing kit. :)
