Bridget any I have been married for 15 years. We decided to celebrate with a trip to somewhere fancy. But the world was still shut down so we went to the fanciest place we could in Mexico. Cancun. And in Hyatt Ziva resort we were not disappointed. The resort has a dolphin tank right outside our balcony!
Our hotel is on the point of Cancun. There is a huge reef that starts here and heads down the coast. The guide said it’s over a hundred miles. I’ll take his word for it. He said all this area was under the sea bed till the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs elevated this all.
Here are some treats at the bakery. This resort is all you can eat. Pretty cool. I have decided in my older age that quality is over quantity.
Here is what I get to see every morning waking up, they train the dolphins in the morning and there is a dolphin swim encounter…. So cool.
Check out this hottie I had breakfast with! What a lucky guy I am.
We went for a walk. This limestone turns into reef and there was a light house overlooking and marking the area. From our room we can see the Isla Mujeres. Which is Spanish for island mujeres…..
We got uo for an excursion on the second day we were here. We went to Cenotes. I’m not sure if that is a name or if it is a geology. But from what I can figure a Cenote is a cave underground filled with fresh water. Water from rain drips into limestone and causes massive sink holes and curves underground. Over millions of years they leave behind this butidul complex cane and water system. It is so cool. We took a bumpy bus from Cancun and then went down into a Cenote (I was told Labanha Cenote, but I don’t speak Spanish) This was awesome. Bats flu in and out and drop food and poop. Fish live off of it. And it it’s mineral water. We went cave exploring. Underground. In water. It was cool. And freaky all at the same time
