Virginia two

We had every intention of going to church but Bridget was still sick so we went to IHOP. I was gonna make an inappropriate joke about French Broken Bread, but decided it was inappropriate.

We played with wikki sticks. Have you noticed how much smarter my kids look?
Notice the bling!
We game mom a break this afternoon and went to the York River State Park. I had read you can look for fossils on the beach in a certain area of the park. It was 0.5 miles one way. We did it in flip flops. Actually Tessa did it on my shoulders both ways. I only had to haul Emmy and Tessa back. It was a good work out.
Flowers and pine cones.
The beach was covered in fossils. Tons and tons.
Washing off a find or two.
I got lucky and found this one intact.
Check out this fossilized barnacle
I think they all had fun.
Snack time at the outlook.
This is a great state park. Really one of the best.
After we got back we went monopolizing in our hotel. Emmy had never been golfing before.
Dinner!
Showing off our finds. Dora approves.

Virginia

We got up at 445 am to get into the plane those were some tired kids by the end.
We tried the pool out the first day. Eli and Dora had a blast.
We are staying in Williamsburg. This is a pretty cool place. For a few bucks you can tour a colonial government seat. This is the governors palace. This was really neat. Originally built in early 1700s. Burned down in late 1780 then restored. Lots of the buildings were original. Lots were restored.
Cool swords huh?
This was a real hedge maze.
We discovered the cellars.
We are eating lunch in a tavern.
The blacksmith shop was cool. I want to take Eli and Dora to Nauvoo.
See Bridget and kids in from of that building? We were waiting for our carriage ride.
Speaking of...
Look at that horse but! And there are two horses pulling us around. You've never seen a happier Tessa.
We need one of thes in our house for time out.
Actually we need 2. But the second one will have to be smaller.
Snack time at hotel.
The next day we went for a drive in the Chesapeake bay bridge/tunnel. It is 18 miles long. 15 miles are above ground 3 are under water. So cool!
